FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: tension wedge clamp for fixation of wires (ropes) 1 of air power transmission lines comprises a body 2, covers 3, wedges 4, 5, traction rods 6 and a helical protector 10. The external and internal surfaces of the protector 10 are processed with an abrasive and glue along their whole length or only in the area of wedges 4, 5 location. Besides, the abrasive with glue may also be applied onto surfaces of the wedges 4, 5 or only onto the inner surface of the protector 10 and simultaneously onto surfaces of the wedges 4, 5. Wire spirals of the protector 10 have opposite direction of winding relative to winding direction of external winding of wires in a wire (a rope) 1. The length of the protector 10 makes (1.0÷15.0) of the selected length of the clamp body 2, diameter of the wires in spiral strands of the protector 10 equals (0.6÷3.0) of the diameter of wires in the external winding of the wire (rope) 1, and pitch of the spiral strands in the protector 10 is selected as equal to (0.1÷5.0) from the value of the wire (rope) 1 wires twisting pitch 1.
EFFECT: clamp is characterised with durability of operation, quite softly acts at a wire or a clamp, reducing specific pressure at their wires and providing reliable operation in process of their long-term operation.
