FIELD: power engineering; deadend clamps for overhead power transmission line conductors.
SUBSTANCE: proposed clamp has U-shaped body, cover, and wedges. Body and cover are joined together along wedge projections, wedge surfaces, and slots. Body carries pins connected through links to deadend insulator string of overhead power transmission line. Body length is chosen from following expression: Lbody = (4.5 - 6.5)dwire max. When in assembled condition, through wedge slot is formed between body and cover to receive wedges whose chutes have segmental projections of triangular shape, their overall parameters being as follows: length l = (0.8 - 1.0)dwire max, vortex angle α = 20 - 30°, disposition pitch through wedge length s = (1.5 - 3.5)l, where dwire max is maximal diameter of wire inserted in clamp.
EFFECT: optimal strength in wire termination, enhanced reliability, simplified design, facilitated installation and removal.
