SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemistry and may be used for off-gas cleaning. In compliance with the first version, gas containing at least sulfur dioxide and mercury are brought in contact with absorbent gas for persulphate to beaded thereto to withdraw mercury from off-gas. Persulphate is added reach its concentration varying from 500 to 5000 mg/l. In compliance with the second version, gaseous iodine is added to off-gas containing at least sulfur dioxide and mercury for obtained mix to be brought in contact with absorbent fluid in flue-gas wet-type desulfuration plant.
EFFECT: higher rate of sulfur dioxide and mercury withdrawal.
