FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention considers sorbent based on cross-linked polymer and carbon for removal of carbon dioxide, heavy metals, toxic materials in flue gas in result of combustion process at coal-fired power stations. The sorbent contains a carbon-bearing sorbent, cured amine-containing polymer and sulphur. The sorbents based on polymer and carbon are formed in result of curing of amine-containing polymer in presence of carbonic sorbent, sulphur cross-linking agent, a curing accelerator and a curing activating agent optionally. The suitable carbonic sorbent is activated carbon while the suitable amine-containing polymer is allyl-containing poly(ethelyneimine) with average molecular weight from about 1500 up to 10000. The sorbents based on polymer and carbon may contain sulfur exceeding the quantity required for curing of amine-containing polymer.
EFFECT: invention allows capturing more mercury in elementary and ionic forms.
