SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to poultry industry and, in particular, to devices for carrying eggs and methods of control of carrying eggs. The method and a device is proposed for automatic determining whether the eggs designated for removal from the holder for eggs are removed or not by the device for removing eggs. Along the trajectory over the holder for eggs and along it there is light emitted while the device for collecting eggs moves for egg removal. The time interval during which the trajectory of light is blocked when the device for collecting eggs moves, is measured and used to determine whether an egg is removed from the holder. The device and method for detection of malfunctioning device for collecting eggs is described. A device for detecting determines the number of eggs in an egg holder. The control unit monitors the device for collecting eggs and device for detection. The control unit calculates the number of eggs in the egg holder to identify a situation when the number of eggs differs by a specified amount from the estimated number of eggs for egg holder.

EFFECT: increase in hatch and viability of chicks.
