FIELD: microbiology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods and systems for locating and selecting a colony of microorganisms, as well as for identifying microorganisms using mass spectrometry. Method of locating and selecting colony of microorganisms on a dish for cultivation and preparation of suspension of one sample with a selected colony for several analyzes includes automated steps: location and selecting colony of microorganisms on culture dish; obtaining a sample of a selected colony of microorganisms; transfer of obtained sample to container, having amount of suspension medium, wherein container is adapted for receiving by nephelometer; preparing a sample suspension by transferring at least a portion of the obtained sample to a suspension medium using a robotic collection tool; automatic production of an aliquot of the prepared suspension; dosing portion of suspension into receiving vessel for first analysis; transferring the receiving vessel for the first analysis with the sample into a mass spectrometry apparatus for identifying a sample of the selected colony of microorganisms; determining, whether the turbidity of the suspension is within the predetermined technical requirements for the second analysis using the automated nephelometer, and if it is within the technical requirements, determining the batched volume for the second analysis, based on the measured turbidity; and automatically inoculating the sample container for the second suspension analysis, if it is determined that the suspension is within the technical requirements; wherein if it is determined that the suspension is not within the technical requirements for use in the second analysis without dilution, automatic volume correction to provide a predetermined amount of a sample suitable for a second analysis, before inoculation of the second analysis container; automatic production of aliquot of suspension in container for second analysis and automatic inoculation of receiving vessel for second analysis of adapted suspension.
EFFECT: technical result is high accuracy of analysis while maintaining quality of sample.
