SUBSTANCE: when the fingerprint of the current location of the mobile device is created, it can be compared with a known fingerprint associated with a second communication network to determine proximity of the mobile device to the second communication network.
EFFECT: second and next fingerprints generated for a specific communication network can be used to alter a stored fingerprint for the purpose of its updating in order to improve detection of proximity to the communication network.
