FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of reducing carbon dioxide in industrial fluid flux. The method of removing carbon dioxide from fluid flux involves bringing the fluid flux into contact with flushing material containing a first component, a second component and water, where the first component differs from the second component, where the first component contains a calcium oxide source and an alkali metal ion source, and the second component contains slag in which there is one or more chemically active silicate compounds, and the ratio of the first component to the second component ranges from 10:1 to 1:10. The invention describes methods of reducing carbon dioxide emissions from a cement production installation, from an iron and/or steel production installation and from a source burning hydrocarbon fuel. The carbon dioxide-sequestering material is in form of a suspension containing particles with average maximum size of 500 mcm and average surface area of 1000 cm2/g.
EFFECT: invention provides an effective and affordable method of reducing carbon dioxide emissions with possibility of recycling by-products.
