FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to exhaust gas catalysts and use thereof. Described is an exhaust gas catalyst containing at least a support and a plurality of layers formed on the support in which one of said plurality of layers has hollow spaces inside, and has catalytic components in form of a noble metal, aluminium oxide and one or more mixed oxides containing main components in form of cerium oxide, zirconium oxide and one or more rare-earth elements except cerium, where at least one or more mixed oxides has specific surface area of not less than 40 m2/g at temperature 1000°C. Described is an apparatus for treating exhaust gas in which at the side where the exhaust gas is emitted from the engine there is one or more exhaust gas catalysts from those given above, and when there are several exhaust gas catalysts, the catalytic components of the exhaust gas catalysts are identical or different.
EFFECT: disclosed exhaust gas catalyst is characterised by high efficiency with simultaneous intensification of diffusion of exhaust gas into the catalyst layer.
