SUBSTANCE: image forming apparatus has a rotating belt element, tightening apparatus, control apparatus having a rotating part, a frictional part provided on each opposite axial end of the rotating part for sliding contact with the belt element, support apparatus for supporting the rotating and the frictional parts, a rotating shaft which rotationally supports the support apparatus. The apparatus controls the belt element by rotating it with force resulting from sliding between the belt element and the frictional part. Each frictional part is provided with an inclined surface which is inclined for removal from the axis of rotation of the rotating part in the axial direction to the external side, and the belt element either touches at least one of the inclined parts, and where the frictional parts are made from electroconductive resinous material, or the belt element has length which is sufficient to touch both inclined surfaces.

EFFECT: higher quality of the formed image.
