DIAGNOSTIC TECHNIQUE FOR AXONAL DEMYELINATING POLYNEUROPATHIES Russian patent published in 2012 - IPC G01N33/49 G01N27/62

Abstract RU 2441240 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: stage of plasma protein fractionation is conducted with using magnetic microparticles. It is followed by mass spectrometric analysis of an eluate sample. The derived mass spectra are compared for the presence or absence of a number of peaks matched with biomarkers of axonal demyelinating polyneuropathies, namely Guillain-Barre syndrome and chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy. The absence of characteristic numbers of the mass spectra peaks testifies to the absence of axonal demyelinating polyneuropathy in a patient.

EFFECT: use of the technique allows higher diagnostic accuracy in axonal demyelinating polyneuropathies.
