SUBSTANCE: in different versions, logic protocol completion can be realised between user equipment and a target base station for handoff signals between base stations. Disclosed direction and encapsulation mechanisms enable to improve interaction between base stations implementing different protocol versions or from different manufacturers, which enables frequent protocol updating. Also, the invention enables a target base station to realise new radio configurations even if such configurations are not supported by the initial base station.
