SUBSTANCE: method for cryptographic key separation for handovers involves: calculating a key based at least in part on a previously stored first intermediate value; calculating a second intermediate value based at least in part on the calculated key; and sending to a target access point a connection switch acknowledgement including the second intermediate value; receiving the connection switch message, which includes a cell identification indication; calculating the encryption key based on the cell identification indication and storing the second intermediate value, wherein key calculation includes key calculation after radio link handover.
EFFECT: providing such a degree of protection of cryptographic key separation that the previous advanced node B cannot obtain an encryption key used by a mobile terminal and the current advanced node B, low volume of processing or transmitting service signals during handover.
