METHOD FOR EVALUATION OF PHYSICAL DEVELOPMENT OF CHILDREN Russian patent published in 2012 - IPC A61B5/107

Abstract RU 2441583 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention is referred to the areas of medicine, anatomy, neonatology, pediatrics, social hygiene and healthcare organization and can be used for diagnostics and correction of physical development of neonates, infants and babies, as well as for population studies. The child is subject to determination of actual gestational age (GAact) in weeks at birth and the calculation of gestation maturity ratio (GMR) - as a relation of standard gestational age (GAstand) of 40 weeks to GAact at birth. The determination is performed for functional recovery degree (FRD) - as the level of adaptation to extrauterine life, in points, using Apgar scale on the 5th minute of life. The determination is performed for body mass and height, head circumference (Chead, cm) and chest circumference (Cchest, cm) for a child at the moment of examination and morphofunctional reserve (MFR) is calculated - as the sum of ratio of body weight (kg) to body height (cm) and Chead to Cchest. On the basis of the parameters the index of physical development is calculated using the formula: IPD=FRDxGMR/MFR. With IPD from 6 to 8 normal or average physical development of children is diagnosed, with IPD less than 6 - low physical development, more than 8- high physical development.

EFFECT: adequate estimation of physical development of children taking into account the morphologic and functional characteristics.
