FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine and to a method for prediction of intraventricular hemorrhage (IVH) in premature newborns by examining them on the first day of life, where gestation age is less than 28 weeks in newborns with gestational age of less than 28 weeks, weight and height at birth are measured, peripheral venous blood is analyzed for content of neuromodulin (GAP-43) and a prognostic index is calculated.
EFFECT: invention provides a wider range of prognostic agents, higher accuracy, sensitivity and specificity of predicting IVH in the early neonatal period in premature infants with gestational age of less than 28 weeks.
