FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to neonatology, and can be used for prediction of intraventricular haemorrhages in premature newborns of gestational age of 28-36.6 weeks in early neonatal period. Risk of intraventricular haemorrhage is calculated using laboratory, physical and anamnestic data of the mother. In capillary blood taken from a child’s heel, partial oxygen tension is determined by data of gases and acid-base state, Apgar scores at 5th minute of life, a baby’s head circumference at birth is measured and the mother’s age is taken into account. Further, a prognostic index is calculated by the declared formula. If the prognostic coefficient is less than 0, a high risk of developing intraventricular haemorrhage in the early neonatal period is predicted, and if value is 0 or more, a low risk is predicted.
EFFECT: method is simple, minimally invasive, allows optimizing management of premature infants and improving neonatal outcomes.
