FIELD: radiotechnics.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to a radiotechnics and can be used in systems for land-based radio-frequency radiation sources location in the frequency range of approximately from 100 MHz till 3 GHz. The technical result of invention is increasing of location estimate accuracy for the source radio emission (SRE). The method comprises the sequential procedure of measurement of the radiation frequency and the effective value of the field strength of the radio source in three or more spaced detection checkpoints assignment of estimated height of the SRE antenna and the threshold of the normalized mean-square error values of the field, selecting of the boundaries for the expected territory of the SRE, through all the points with coordinates (x, y) within the expected area of the SRE and the simultaneous calculation for each point the distance and the diffraction losses to each of the detectors as well as a normalized value of the field strength for each receiver and the resulting value of the normalized mean-square error values of the field. The most probable SRE position is defined as the set of points (x, y) in the value of the mean square error which is below the threshold.
EFFECT: defining of most probable source radio emission position as the set of points (x, y) in the value of the mean square error which is below the threshold.
