FIELD: electronic reconnaissance.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electronic reconnaissance and can be used in radio monitoring systems for high-precision location of radio-frequency sources (RFS) from an aircraft. In the disclosed method, data on probable radio emission sources on the flight route, including antenna beam pattern parameters, are entered before the flight. Measurements are taken at least at two points. Additionally, a procedure for approximation of the results of measurements of the radiation field of the transmitting antenna is carried out, and the radio-frequency source is identified by reference beam patterns. Method includes calculating theoretical values of field strength for a plurality of values of parameters of the assumed RFS within the expected territory of its location, possible positions of the radio-frequency source are determined by comparing the sums of the differences of squares of the measured and theoretical values of the field intensity at the measurement points, and the point for which this sum is minimum is taken as the most probable position of the radio-frequency source.

EFFECT: high accuracy of locating a radio-frequency source.
