SUBSTANCE: invention refers to the field of mechanical engineering and in particular to vehicle engineering. The volume absorber of acoustic energy for the motor compartment is mounted in the hood area limited in the front part in relation to the travel motion of a vehicle by the cooling module of the internal combustion engine with the radiator, fan and enclosure in assembly, in the back part - with the body front panel, at the top - with the cowl panel, at the bottom - with the lower screen of the motor compartment, in the side areas - with the wheel housing panels. It is firmly fixed on the internal surface of one or several body panels - the cowl panel and/or on the internal surface of the body front panel and/or on the internal surface of the lower screen of the motor compartment. In the installation area of the volume absorber a discharge intake chamber is formed, and in its porous noise-attenuating structure through ventilation oblique channels are made in relation to the longitudinal axle of the car. The structure of the porous layer of the volume absorber may be made of foam open-pore or fibrous material, or of the combination of alternating layers of foam and fibrous materials and is faced with the external protective cover of thin, dynamically flexible, air and water proof, sound transparent film with the thickness of <0.1 mm, or sound transparent, heat and water resistant fabric of Maliflis type, or in some local heat loaded areas - of thin (<0.1 mm) heat resistant imperforated or micro-perforated aluminum foil (for instance, opposite the collector housing) that are adhesively linked with the surface of the porous structure of the volume absorber of the corresponding type with a sticky glue or thermosetting substance or with the help of the fire method thus ensuring a sound transparent composite structure that excludes formation of a severe packed sounding entity.
