FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metal forming and may be used in hammer shops of metallurgical and machine building plants. Intermediate billet with bulged face is produced by extrusion of initial billet from inner container through channel. Bulging is produced in axially symmetric pass formed by surfaces of mandrel secured on press table and inner container. Then, intermediate billet is upset to form part annular wall. Wall is formed by back extrusion of upset billet into annular gap formed by inner container outer surface and outer container inner surface. Note here that force of friction between wall outer surface and outer container inner surface is adjusted. For this, adjusted axial force is applied to outer container that may displace axially in two directions relative to mandrel. Axial force direction is opposite that of extrusion force direction.
EFFECT: higher quality of finished products.
