FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: method involves treatment of steel items by submerging them into molten salt pre-heated to the item material tempering temperature, which contains Na, Ca, Ba chlorides at the components ratio corresponding to eutectic composition of the melt, wt %: NaCl - 21, BaCl - 31, CaCl2 - 48, and the items submerged into molten salt are influenced by focused ultrasound vibrations created in this melt. Device includes housing with a cover plate in which there fixed is stock for suspension of cleaned items; inside the housing there located is cylindrical tank with conical bottom for molten salt, and under it there provided is lead collecting tank with a lead outlet hole and a shutter, which are connected to each other by means of a channel, and heating elements of tanks for molten salt and molten lead; at that, ultrasound vibration emitters connected to ultrasound frequency generator are installed on conical bottom of molten salt tank.
EFFECT: inventions allow performing high-efficiency cleaning of surface of steel items from marks of lead melts without corrosion damage to their surface at combination of this process with final stage of heat treatment of the item.
