FIELD: information technology.
SUBSTANCE: liquid crystal panel (2) includes: a p-type liquid crystal material between a pair of substrates (10 and 20), and interdigitated-finger electrodes (13 and 14) for applying an electric field of the parallel surface of the substrate to the p-type liquid crystal material. The p-type liquid crystal material is levelled vertically relative the surface of the substrate when no electric field is applied. The interdigitated-finger electrodes (13 and 14) have electrode width of 5 mcm or less, and the electrode spacing is 15 mcm or less. The product of anisotropy of the dielectric constant and anisotropy of the refraction index of the p-type liquid crystal material is greater than or equal to 1.3 and less than or equal to 3.1.
EFFECT: invention provides a liquid crystal panel used in practice, which enables to simultaneously achieve high-speed response, wide view angle and high contrast.
