SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing highly porous xerogel. The method is realised using a sol-gel technique. Synthesis of the initial gel is carried out by exposing a liquid mixture of two mutually insoluble liquid phases to ultrasound. The continuous phase is aqueous silica sol or aluminium oxide. The dispersed phase is an organic solvent which is insoluble in said soles. The particle size of the organic solvent phase is controlled by the intensity of ultrasonic treatment.
EFFECT: obtaining highly porous xerogels with controlled density and porosity.
