FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a heterophase polypropylene polymer which contains a polypropylene homo- or copolymer matrix phase (A) and an ethylene-propylene copolymer phase (B) dispersed in the matrix. The heterophase polypropylene polymer has a fraction which is insoluble in para-xylene (XCU) at temperature 25°C, with characteristic viscosity of 2.0 dl/g or less in amount of 60-95 wt % polymer and amount of repeating units of the propylene copolymer of at least 90 mol %, and a fraction which is soluble in para-xylene (XCS) at temperature 25°C, having characteristic viscosity from 2.0 to 4.5 dl/g in amount of 5-40 wt % polymer and amount of repeating units of the ethylene monomer from 60 to 85 mol %. Described also is a heterophase polypropylene composition containing said polymer, a method of producing and using said polymer, as well as an article made from said polymer.

EFFECT: obtaining a heterophase polypropylene polymer with high impact strength at low temperatures.
