FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: heterophase polypropylene resin contains a propylene homo- or copolymer matrix and an ethylene-propylene rubber phase dispersed in a matrix. The heterophase polypropylene resin has a fraction which is insoluble in p-xylene at 25°C, with characteristic viscosity of 1.5 dl/l or less and content of propylene monomer units of at least 95 mol % and a fraction which is soluble in p-xylene at 25°C, with characteristic viscosity of 1.5-3.0 dl/g and content of propylene monomer units of 50-75 mol %. Also, the fraction which is soluble in p-xylene at 25°C has melt flow index (2.16 kg, 230°C) higher than 100 g/10 min.

EFFECT: heterophase polypropylene resin with such characteristics exhibits high fluidity and improved impact properties, especially at low temperatures.
