FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: isotope composition is changed via a floating-zone refining process in the presence of a constant magnetic field with strength of 1 T or 0.3 T. Temperature of the heating elements is equal to 400±5°C and temperature of the cooling elements is equal to 20±2°C.
EFFECT: invention enables to mix molten metal during floating-zone refining in order to change isotope composition using a cheaper and efficient method.
