SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a mechanical device for opening and closing sofa beds. A mechanical device for opening and closing sofa beds consists of a frame structure and a set of movable frames connected in series with each other and moved through roto-traversing, containing a first articulated quadrilateral (A) and the second articulated quadrilateral (B) interconnected and operated by the specified displacement. The number of connecting rods in the quadrangle (A) is not more than three, and the number of connecting rods in the quadrangle (B) is not more than two.
EFFECT: reduction of parts of the mechanism and lack of possibility of accidental folding of a sofa bed.
