FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to powder metallurgy, particularly, to production of articles from Al-SiC-based composite materials. Said articles may be used as bases and cases for power semi-conductor hardware Preform consisting of alternating porous billets from silicon carbide powder including, at least, two fractions and separation elements are arranged in impregnation device. Metal elements are secured on every surface of porous billet, adjacent to separation element surface, to create clearance there between. Separation elements are pre-impregnated with anti-burning-in coat. Impregnation is perfomed by dipping preform in matrix metal melt and followed by inert gas feed on melt mirror at 4 to 4.5 MPa.
EFFECT: high density, heat conductivity and low linear expansion factor.
