FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to UV-transmitting sodium-potassium-silicate glass. In certain versions of the present invention, UV-transmitting sodium-potassium-silicate glass can be produced through a float process. The glass contains the following, wt %: SiO2 67-75, Na2O 10-20, CaO 5-15%, as well as 0.1-3.0% zinc oxide or lithium oxide or 0.1-2.0% Cl, and the glass has transmission at wavelength 320 nm equal to at least 60%.
EFFECT: high transmission for certain UV radiation wavelenths.
