FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to high-transmission low-iron glass which is highly oxidised and made using the float process, for use in photovoltaic devices such as solar cells or the like. In certain versions of the invention, the glass composition is made via the float process using an extremely high and positive batch redox from +26 to +40 in order to reduce % FeO to a low level. The glass substrate may or may not be patterned in different versions of this invention.
EFFECT: simultaneously realising a combination of high transmission of visible light, high infrared transmission and full solar transmission.
