FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a grey glass composition. Gray glass contains matrix glass and a colouring part. The matrix glass contains the following components in wt %: SiO2- 67-75, Na2O - 10-20, CaO -5-15; MgO - 0-7, Al2O3 - 0-7, K2O - 0-7. The colouring part contains the following components: total iron (Pe2O3) - from 0.20 to 0.40%, selenium - 2-20 ppm, cobalt oxide - from 0.0025 to 0.0060%, titanium oxide - less than 1.0%. The gray glass contains titanium oxide and at nominal thickness of 6 mm has redox value (FeO/Fe2O3) of at least 0.20%, visible light transmission of at least 55%, UV transmission of 25-32%, dominant wavelength in the range from 470 nm to 555 nm, excitation purity of not more than 5.0% and infrared transmission of not more than 55%.
EFFECT: high transmission of visible light and low transmission of infrared radiation of gray glass.
