METHOD OF PRECISE APPLICATION OF ADHESIVE COMPOSITION IN SURGICAL PRACTICE Russian patent published in 2012 - IPC A61M5/30

Abstract RU 2449812 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to surgery, and may be used during operative interventions. A device is used for application of an adhesive composition on a local area of the operative intervention. The device comprises a handle with a button. Inside the handle, there is an ampoule with the adhesive composition and a pricker. The pricker has a point for ampoule punching on one end. A pusher incorporates a fixed portion of a hollow thin tube through which the adhesive composition is supplied from the ampoule. A cap which covers the tube and the pricker is put on the handle end. The device is held by one hand, while the other hand removes a cap; thereafter the handle tip with the pricker is embraced that is followed by single-step pulling back for perforation of the ampoule with the adhesive composition. Then the second hand is taken back; the device is guided by the hollow thin tube to a point of required adhesion introduction; the button is pressed, and the adhesive composition is applied.

EFFECT: method enables precise application of the adhesive composition that in turn leads to reduced blood loss volume, prevented infection, reduced length of operation, and reduced risk of the onset of postoperative complications.
