SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a vacuum degassing apparatus and a vacuum degassing method for molten glass. The vacuum degassing apparatus for molten glass has an ascending pipe, a vacuum degassing vessel, a descending pipe, an inlet pit for supplying molten glass to the ascending pipe, and an outlet pit for receiving molten glass from the descending pipe. The vacuum degassing apparatus for molten glass further comprises a separating mechanism for separating a portion of molten glass moving from the descending pipe to the outlet pit, and a returning pipe for returning molten glass separated by the separating mechanism to the inlet pit.
EFFECT: reduced formation of gas bubbles on the boundary surface between molten glass and the wall surface of the molten glass channel.
