FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: magnesium alloy containing from 2.0 to 5.0 at. % of a gadolinium sum and at least one element selected from a group consisting of soluble heavy lanthanides and ittrium, where the ratio of total quantity of heavy lanthanides and ittrium and quantity of gadolinium makes from 1.25:1 to 1.75:1, all other lathanides in the total quantity of less than 0.2 at. %, zirconium in the amount from 0.03 to 0.3 at.%, magnesium and random admixtures in the amount of not more than 0.2 at. %. -the balance. The magnesium alloy containing 5.5-6.5 wt % Y, 6.5-7.5 wt % Gd and 0.2-0.4 wt % Zr, magnesium and random admixtures - the balance.
EFFECT: alloys are characterised with high indices of strength, plasticity and corrosion resistance.
