FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: disclosed is a method for continuous production of polyamide, comprising steps for: 1) polycondensation in a reactor of a stream of liquid containing monomers at pressure P1 higher than atmospheric pressure, wherein the mass flow at the output of the reactor consists of a vapour phase containing at least water vapour, and a liquid phase containing at least a polycondensation product; 2) feeding the mass flow into the chamber, releasing a portion of the vapour phase from the chamber and collecting the liquid phase containing the polycondensation product, wherein pressure P2 in the chamber is set to a nominal value which is higher than atmospheric pressure and so that the dwell time of the liquid phase in the chamber is shorter than 5 minutes, preferably shorter than 1 minute; 3) expanding the liquid phase containing at least a stream of polycondensation products collected at step 2.
EFFECT: compact apparatus, method is flexible and easy to implement, method is ideally adapted for obtaining polyhexamethylene adipamide.
