DIAGNOSIS OF URETHRAL OBSTRUCTION Russian patent published in 2012 - IPC A61B5/20 A61B7/02

Abstract RU 2451487 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medical equipment, namely to apparatuses and methods for detecting urethral obstruction. A system comprises converters placed in an immediate proximity from a patient's uroflow, and a coupled control unit designed to receive output signals from the converters connected with them, to form an acoustic wave amplitude during the whole patient's urination as a time function, to ensure the parameters of spectral specific power of the acoustic waves against frequency and processing of the specified parameters to evaluate an uroflow turbulence during the whole urination which testifies to urethral obstruction. According to the second version the system is additionally supplied with a positioning unit designed for placing the converters in an immediate proximity from the patient's uroflow so that an acoustic border of each converter is found in a position of reception of the acoustic wave generated by the patient's uroflow of the system. The method for detecting urethral obstruction is based on using a diagnosing system. The method of comparing the acoustic wave generated by the uroflow along the urethra at the preset parameters involves data collection from the acoustic waves synchronously from different locations in relation to the uroflow during the whole urination, acoustic wave transformation into electric signals and electric signal transfer to a data processor. That implies applying the preset algorithm to acoustic parameters and the parameters of spectral specific power to obtain the data compared with the preset parameters. A positioning unit of the converter to be used in the system comprises an adjustable fixing mechanism to fix the acoustic border of each converter to the patient's body to catch the acoustic waves generated by the patient's uroflow.

EFFECT: invention enables accelerated and facilitated X-ray examination and diagnosis ensured by the initial analysis of acoustic noise.
