FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: in the method of setting thermal conditions of ceramic rocket cowlings during radiant heating through automatic temperature control on a finite number of points and measuring optical properties on the steel part of the heated surface, a coating is deposited on the outer surface of the cowling, said coating consisting of two components, the emissivity factor of one of which is more than twice higher than that of the other component and is equal to 0.8-0.9, and temperature for each heating zone with constant heat flux density is set by calculation.
EFFECT: high accuracy and reduced expenses when setting the temperature field during ground tests on ceramic cowlings in radiant heating installations owing to use of high-temperature coatings with controlled emissivity factor.
