FIELD: testing.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to testing equipment, primarily to the technology for thermal testing of ceramic rocket fairings with IR heating. Method for thermal testing of rocket fairings includes zone heating of the surface of the fairing using heaters made of quartz lamps with a reflective screen and measuring the temperature in the cross sections of the fairing with temperature sensors installed on the reflective screen made of a porous high-temperature material and secured on a rigid base, tubes are placed in the material of the screen, with holes directed inwards, and the tubes are oriented in the direction of generatrices of the rigid base and connected to the water-filled collector of the heating zone. The total area of holes of the tubes in the heating zone is less than the cross-sectional area of the inlet tube of the collector of the heating zone. The reflective screen is installed with a gap equidistantly to the outer surface of the fairing, and the heaters are installed with a gap relative to the reflective screen and to the outer surface of the fairing.
EFFECT: increase in the duration of heating the tested structure; expanded temperature range of the testing equipment.
