FIELD: test equipment.
SUBSTANCE: method of thermal tests of rocket fairings of nonmetallic materials includes heating the outer surface of the fairing by passing an electric current through the heaters located to the outer surface of the fairing with a gap and measuring the temperature. Quartz, halogen or gas-discharge lamps are used as heaters, the heaters are located with a gap to the reflectors installed on the supporting wall. Reflectors are made hollow with perforation, their surface is equidistant to the surface of the fairing. The heating zones are a single unit and are an integral part of the gas removal path. The space between the reflectors and the fairing surface is fed with a gas mixture in the direction from the top to the end of the fairing and on the side of the heating zones in the normal direction to the fairing surface.
EFFECT: increasing the accuracy of setting the temperature field for surface tests of fairings from nonmetallic materials and reducing the release of harmful substances into the working space.
