FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medical equipment, namely an apparatus enabling putting a compression stocking on. A stocking applicator comprises an elongated element accommodating two opposite side walls and a connective wall and thereby can have a substantially U-section. The applicator is open-ended and has a heel hole located between its ends, passing through the whole elongated element and carrying an individual's heel when putting the stocking on. Said applicator may be combined with a stocking arranged in an original position on the applicator. Said applicator is used to put the stocking on an individual's extremity. According to the second version, the applicator has a hole in the connective wall carrying a portion of the individual's extremity, e.g. a heel or an elbow, when putting the stocking on the extremity, and passing through the whole elongated element. A method of putting the stocking on an individual's lower extremity which involves using the applicator comprising the substantially U-section, having the heel hole which is passing through all the whole elongated body between its ends. Thereafter, an upper end of the stocking is pulled on one of the applicator ends. The stocking is moved forward along its external part of the applicator to the other end of the applicator until the stocking heel is arranged close to one of the applicator ends specified above. Then the individual's heel is placed in a stocking heel. The applicator is pulled along the individual's foot so that the individual's heel enters into the heel hole of the applicator. Then the applicator is moved upwards to a calf region to put the stocking on completely, and the applicator is removed from the foot. A method of removing the stocking from the lower extremity which involves placing the extremity opposite to the applicator comprising the substantially elongated U-body having the heel hole which is passing through all the whole elongated body between its ends. Thereafter, the upper end of the stocking is pulled on one of the applicator ends. The stocking is moved along the external part of the applicator by the other end of the applicator. It is followed by positioning the applicator to place the individual's heel in the heel hole. The applicator is moved along the foot to put the stocking off or until the individual can remove the foot from the stocking.
EFFECT: invention has smaller weight, provides easier and convenient pulling the stocking.
