FIELD: railway automation and telemechanics.

SUBSTANCE: radio-photonic system for determining speed of cut of cars on a hump yard comprises a microwave oscillation unit, a multichannel signal processing unit (MSPU), a plurality of location speed sensors (LSS). Microwave oscillation unit has a semiconductor laser module, an electrooptic modulator, a fibre-optic delay line, an optical radiation divider, a photodetector module and a resonant microwave amplifier. LSS includes an antenna, an optical radiation divider into two channels, a photodetector module, an autodyne signal extraction unit and an electrooptical modulator. MSPU comprises a digital signal processor and a plurality of second multichannel transmission line signal receivers, each of which comprises series-connected photodetector module, Doppler frequency signal amplifier and analogue-to-digital converter. Microwave oscillation unit is connected to the LSS, and the LSS are connected to the MSPU by means of N-channel fibre-optic transmission lines.

EFFECT: high accuracy of determining speed, reliability, noise immunity and efficiency.
