FIELD: metallurgy; technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing reduced iron agglomerates. Compacts containing iron oxide material and carbonaceous reducing agent are loaded on heating furnace floor with a moving bed and heated to reduce iron oxide in compacts. At that, use is made of compacts, every of which contains iron oxide material, an average particle diameter of which varies from 4 to 23 micron, and contains particles, the diameter of which is equal to 10 microns or less in the amount of 18 mass percents or more.
EFFECT: invention provides higher output of reduced iron agglomerates, particles of which have larger diameters, shorter duration of production, which increases efficiency, and considerable reduction of content of impurities, such as sulphur, in reduced iron agglomerates.
