FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: method involves pulling a metal wire or strip through a correct assembly, a module of mechanochemical cleaning, a tank with viscous oil, an electric arc cleaning module with input and output airtight sluices and an arc discharge zone, an assembly of automatic cooling of wire or ribbon through cooling metal press rollers. Whereby, in the mechanochemical stripping module the wire or strip are pre-cleaned mechanically by using brushes or abrasive material supplied under pressure or it is subjected to chemical etching, or subjected to mechanical cleaning with chemical underetching. The device may contain additional modules of mechanochemical stripping and electric arc cleaning, whereby electric arc cleaning modules are selectively alternated with mechanochemical stripping modules.
EFFECT: invention enables to improve the quality of cleaning of metal wire or strip, reduce energy costs for their treatment, and improve the performance of cleaning process while reducing its cost.
