FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to equipment and methods of removing various impurities from metal surface. In processing, metal article is drawn through vacuum chamber with electric arc discharge (EAD) excited between, least, one anode located in said chamber, and metal article. Working anode is periodically switched off and replaced by another one for former to be mechanically cleaned or cleaned by EAD. In cleaning, EAD circuit parameters are controlled and compared with ratings, while anode replacement is performed when said parameters depart from rated tolerances. Proposed device comprises vacuum chamber with inlet and outlet sealers, metal transfer device, evacuation system, EAD excitation system with anode and power supply, and cleaning device. Metal transfer device may be implemented in horizontal or vertical version.
EFFECT: higher efficiency of processing.
