FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: apparatus has two identical heat detecting elements. The latter consist of smooth metal plates, whose receiving surface and side faces are coated with a black moisture-proof paint. The back surface of each plate is coated with a heat- and water-proof layer having a light-reflecting film. In the central part of the metal plates there are thermocouple junctions which measure the temperature state of each plane when heated under the action of an infrared source and material which reflects radiant flux. The albedo of the active surface of the analysed material is determined from the ratio of the heating intensity of the plates in time.

EFFECT: simple design of the apparatus and high accuracy of measuring the albedo of the active surface of material.
