FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of reproducing aerodynamic thermal action on the head (fairing) of rockets in ground conditions and can be used in ground tests of aircraft components. The disclosed method involves heating through contact of a heater with the outer surface of the fairing. Distribution of temperature on the height of the fairing is set by electroconductive sectors of the heater of different thickness, connected in series into an electrical circuit. The method involves arbitrary partitioning of the surface of the fairing into sectors with the same required heat flux density, selecting the thickness of the heater in each sector, forming the heater and placing it on the fairing, placing conductor lines and a cover made from heat-insulating material onto the fairing.
EFFECT: high accuracy of setting a temperature field during thermal tests on rocket fairings made from nonmetallic materials.
