SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in protective chambers of NPP for containers (canisters) with spent nuclear fuel. Mechanism for installation and retention of cover of container (canister) with spent nuclear fuel includes post with lifting column, post movement drive made in the form of screw mechanism the screw of which is installed with possibility of rotation, and nut is installed with possibility of linear movement along the screw, turning shaft installed on lifting column, and cantilever arm and grip fixed on the cantilever arm, which is connected to turning shaft. Rollers are arranged in the post so that lifting column can be moved along them. Cantilever arm turning assembly is made on rolling bearings. Lifting column is equipped with cantilever arm turning angle limiter with possibility of controlling the cantilever arm turning angle. Docking key is located on cantilever arm with possibility of guidance as per it at removal of cover and opening of the lock. Grip is connected to cantilever arm by means of spherical hinges. Grip drive is made in the form of gear transmissions of internal engagement. Grip is equipped with turning planks, limit stops restricting the turning angle of drive gear wheel and lifting sleeve. The latter is equipped with pins attaching it to drive gear wheel and entering the corresponding holes of the grip housing.

EFFECT: invention allows excluding the necessity of using heavy-duty drives, improving mechanism guidance accuracy and reliability.
