METHOD OF PREDICTING RISK OF IDIOPATHIC SCOLIOSIS DEVELOPMENT IN CHILDREN Russian patent published in 2012 - IPC A61B10/00 G01N33/48

Abstract RU 2456925 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to field of medicine, namely to orthopedics and medical genetics. In order to predict risk of idiopathic scoliosis development in children polymorphism of transforming growth factor β1 gene C-509T is isolated from patients' peripheral venous blood. In case of detection of -509TT genotype, higher risk of idiopathic scoliosis development is predicted. If genotypes -509CT and -509CC are identified, absence of risk of idiopathic scoliosis development in children is predicted.

EFFECT: method makes it possible to predict risk of idiopathic scoliosis development in children on the basis of identification of polymorphism of transforming growth factor β1 gene C-509T.
