Said method uses data on genetic polymorphism of mothers of Russian nationality, which are natives of the Central Black Earth region of the Russian Federation, and includes DNA extraction from peripheral venous blood, analysis of polymorphic loci rs1801394 MTRR – rs1805087 MTR – rs699517 TIMS – rs17577 MMP 9, wherein a high risk of having children with short stature is predicted if a combination of genotypes is detected in the mother rs1801394 MTRR GG – rs1805087 MTR AA-rs699517 TIMS CC – rs17577 MMP 9 AA.

EFFECT: present invention provides prediction of newborn growth using data on genetic polymorphism of mothers.
