SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to medical diagnostics, and can be used to predict the risk of developing osteoarthrosis of the knee joint in men of Russian nationality, natives of the Central Black Earth Region of Russia. Venous blood is sampled, DNA is recovered from peripheral venous blood, and polymorphic loci rs143384 are analysed of gene GDF5, rs3771501 of gene TGFA and rs2820436 of gene LYPLAL1. When detecting a combination of genotypes GG rs143384 of gene GDF5, GG rs3771501 of gene TGFA and CC rs2820436 of gene LYPLAL1 high risk of knee osteoarthrosis in males is predicted.

EFFECT: method provides obtaining new criteria for assessing the risk of developing osteoarthrosis in men of Russian nationality, natives of the Central Black Earth Region of Russia, based on data on interlocus interaction of polymorphic variants rs143384 of gene GDF5, rs3771501 of gene TGFA and rs2820436 of gene LYPLAL1.
